Why Smoking Around Kids Is Bad

I love my kids, and want to protect them from everything bad that they may face throughout their lives, whether it’s financial hardship, health problems or even from scraping their knees at the local playground.

While there are ways to do this, there are some things you might do that, although you might be aware of the fact it’s not good for you, can damage your kids’ health too. Smoking certainly fits into that category, especially because of the harm that second-hand smoke causes to children whose parents are regular smokers.

Smoking around kids can be harmful to them because the second-hand smoke that comes from a cigarette can cause breathing problems, clogged-up arteries and coughing fits. In addition to that, smoking around your kids may give them a few ideas, especially as they look up to you as a role model, meaning whatever you do, they’ll be inclined to imitate it. All that should be reason enough to quit, but you may have heard that quitting smoking is incredibly difficult to do.

Thankfully, with products such as ecigarettedirect.co.uk on the market, it has become easier than ever to kick the habit, without it costing you too much or making you feel irritable.

Quitting smoking means that, if you have kids, you won’t have to worry about damaging their health through putting those white sticks in your mouth and lighting them up. I know that, by not smoking, I’m doing myself a favour, as well as helping my kids by not exposing them to second-hand smoke.

My son has bronchitis back when he was 2 until early this year, I’m thinking it was because of the second hand smoke I got when I was pregnant and when he was born as those around us smoke (MIL, BIL, SIL)… :/

I was a smoker and smoked around my children the whole time they were growing up. But we didn’t know about second hand smoke, and besides that they didn’t say till later years after we were hooked that it caused heart problems. Then they added on cancer. Most of us would not have smoked around them or even ourselves if we knew all this before hand. I was so glad when they came up with the “no selling to anyone under 18″law.
