What to Expect at the Tattoo Shop

Going to any of the tattoo shops in Murrieta can be scary enough, especially if it is your first time getting a tattoo. If you know what to expect, you can prepare yourself and be more excited about your new tattoo. You will also be ready for any expectations that the artist has for you.

At the Shop

When you walk in, there are likely multiple artists that work in the shop. They each have portfolios, so you can look at those to choose who you want to do your work for you. If you have already decided who you want, you should make an appointment with them first to make sure that they will be there. To decide what tattoo you want, you may have drawn a picture yourself or may pick one off the walls or books of the shop. If this is the case, the artist may be able to get started right away. Otherwise, you can tell the artist what you have in mind and they may need a few days to draw it for you.

Once the artist knows what they will be doing, you will tell them where you want it and you will sit or lay down, depending on where the tattoo will be. The artist will need to get the ink and needles ready as you wait. If you want, you can listen to music or speak to the artist or have a friend sit with you. The artist will prepare the area by getting rid of any germs and will then begin the tattooing. Depending on the size of the tattoo, you may need to come in multiple times for different sessions.

Listen to Your Artist

Always remember that when you go to tattoo shops in Murrieta, the artist is the professional. Listen to any advice they give you on taking care of your tattoo or what to do before sessions. This could be vital to the success of your new tattoo. Don’t ignore their advice or only follow some of it. Do everything you can to follow everything they tell you.
