High Pressure Hose: Make Old Look New Again

Having a high pressure hose around the home can make light work of even the dirtiest of jobs. A high pressure hose can be used to clean without the use of harsh chemicals, using both hot and cold water, and an assortment of hose attachments (such as multiple jets, rotating or fixed pencil jets, and fan sprays) to get the job done. But not only can high pressure cleaners remove all the dirt and grime on your motorbike, car or driveway. They can get things looking like new again. If you’re in the market for a high pressure hose, and need a little help deciding which one to choose, read on.

Here are some basic tips and advice on choosing the right high pressure hose to keep around the home:

Focus on the hose.

There are a couple of things you should be mindful of when choosing your new high pressure hose. First, make sure you choose a hose that’s long enough to use for the task. In general, the longer the better. Second, choose a hose that’s made out of Polyurethane, rather than PVC or rubber. PVC or rubber hoses are not very flexible, and can sometimes mar surfaces with a black substance when dragged across the ground. Polyurethane, on the other hand, is both strong and flexible, and doesn’t mar any surface when dragged along.

Choose the right product.

Of course, not all high pressure hoses are created equal, and some are better than others. For example, STIHL high pressure cleaners are both effective and eco-friendly. Plus, they come with a long operational life. In any case, whatever brand you choose, make sure you do some research online, and ask friends and family for suggestions. A little research put in before you hand over your hard earned cash will pay dividends when it’s time to get to the cleaning.

Warnings.

It’s important you understand that some parts of your car or motorbike can be damaged with a high pressure hose. For example, vinyl seats on your motorbike, or other rubber parts on your vehicle can rip under the pressure of a high pressure water hose. Also, when choosing your hose, make sure you choose one that has a maximum working pressure rating that’s higher than the machine you intend to use it with. Failing that, you run the risk of the damaging the hose and hurting yourself.

A high pressure hose can get things around the home (including your car or motorbike) looking like new again. They are an effective cleaning tool that can shave literally hours off your cleaning regime. However, before buying your first pressure cleaner, take note of the above. Choose a high quality product and make sure the hose is of sufficient size and strength. Finally, don’t forget that you can damage certain materials with a high pressure hose, so always be mindful of what you’re cleaning every time to avoid any unnecessary damage.
